Rev. Leonard Kayondo, a native of Rwanda and a Mission Representative for his home Kabgayi Diocese has traveled to various parishes in hopes to find missionaries who would support in aiding children and families in need.

In his journey, Rev. Leonard met both our founders of Rise Rwanda. As he told his story of how there are many children in Rwanda that are in desperate need of help, our founders quickly discussed forming the Rise Rwanda organization with the goal of creating a strong community of faith filled missionaries, who are committed to establishing relationships with the people of Rwanda and champions through service inspired by God.

The Rise Rwanda Board of Directors has partnered with the Franciscan Sisters in Kabgayi Rwanda and acquired some of the current needs of the community. Through the collaboration and dedication of both groups, the Rise Rwanda team has developed a long-term plan of service to assist with some of the following requests:

  • Construction of a building that will support a minimum of 60 local children throughout the day.
  • Ongoing feeding program.
  • Education for the children.
  • Medical care.
  • Prayer and support to local families.
